TENNIS FACILITIES
RULES & REGULATIONS

GENERAL RULES FOR TENNIS COURT FACILITIES
• Tennis Court Hours are from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, weather permitting;
• Reservations are on a first come first serve basis for a maximum of two-hour intervals. Reservations can
be made by residents only up to three (3) days in advance;
• The tennis courts are restricted to WCA residents and their guests;
• Proper tennis attire and footwear is required. Swim suits, tank tops, cut-offs, bare chests, etc. are
prohibited on the courts.
• No candy or gum is allowed on the courts.
• All players and guests are expected to show courtesy and good sportsmanship at all times;
• Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by a responsible adult;
• Alcoholic beverages, food, glass, bikes, skateboards, roller-skates and pets are not allowed on the tennis courts;
• No walking across the courts while play is in motion. It is also recommended that players use the gates at the back of each court while a lesson is in progress;
• Eye Wear protection is recommended;
• Bicycles are to be placed in the bike racks located at the tennis facilities;
• The tennis courts are not to be used in foul weather, or if moisture, or other conditions render the courts use unsafe;
• Swim & Tennis staff has the authority to restrict use for inappropriate use of the facilities.

DEFINED RULES & REGULATIONS FOR TENNIS COURT FACILITIES
RESIDENTS
1) It is encouraged that all residents make a reservation for court time by calling the Swim &
Tennis Center Office at 813-855-0662. The reservations would apply to both the
Countryway Facilities and West Park Village Facilities.
2) The Operations Manager and Tennis Director shall be the facilitators concerning the
playability and scheduling of courts.
3) Any WCA tennis instructors s hall be allowed to use up to any four (4) courts of the six (6)
Countryway courts, and never taking more than two (2) courts at the West Park Village facility.
4) Reservations may be made up to three (3) days in advance. The resident may always play
until the next person arrives for their assigned court time. Resident may also move to an
unoccupied court after the reserved court time has elapsed.
5) A player or group of players may not reserve two (2) consecutive court times. An individual
may play two (2) consecutive court times, as long as it is with a different player or group of players.
6) A WCA member has until 15 minutes past the inception of the court reservation time to
begin play, or the court may be assigned to another member for the balance of the reservation time;
7) Players must surrender the court within five (5) minutes of the time when their time is
called by waiting layers, whether the pending game is completed.
8) Tournaments and leagues scheduled by the Tennis Director take precedence over regular play.
9) No person other than WCA staff shall use any WCA facility to provide tennis instruction for
compensation nor solicit or give the appearance of providing lessons.
10) Each resident is entitled to bring up to (4) guests to play at the tennis court facilities.
GUESTS
1) Out of town guests may use the facilities if accompanied by a resident or registered in the guest book;
2) Members are requested to ensure that the guests comply with all the rules and regulations relating to court play;
3) Management may request identification for guests before access to the courts is granted.
JUNIORS
Supervised junior players under the age of 18 may reserve courts under the following conditions:
A. Weekdays during the day until 4:00 PM;
B. Weekday Evenings after 4:00 PM on the day of play
C. Weekends and Holidays after 12:00 Noon
D. Junior Players may also play on any empty courts
LEAGUE PLAY
A strong, broadly supported tennis program makes the community a better place to live. The purpose of
these rules is to encourage maximum participation by residents of Westchase in the tennis leagues,
while ensuring that all residents still have ample access and convenient court times.
1) All residents shall have first priority to join a Westchase tennis league. A notice in the WOW, on
the tennis bulletin boards or flyers delivered to residents is sufficient. New league teams must
obtain approval from the WCA Board of Directors.
2) The minimum number of residents needed to form a new or continuing league team is 50% of
the required number of players. League captains and co-captains must be Westchase residents.
A copy of the roster with names and addresses submitted must be given to the Tennis Director.
3) Resident members of any league must play a minimum of three (3) matches.
4) There is a $25 court usage fee for non-residents. The resident can reserve for league play up to
two (2) hours at a time and is permitted to use no more than two (2) courts at a time.
CANCELLATION OF COURT TIMES
If a resident needs to cancel a court, please do so prior to the reserved court time. If a reservation if
your name and the court is a no-show, the resident will be placed on the no-show list. If the resident’s
name appears on the no-show list three (3) times, tennis privileges may be revoked.
